(C)2004 XPLAB - Brescia - ITALY XPOLYPLUS DEMO02 ABSTRACT Starting from a sollecitation of a plcforun user (www.plcforum.it) DEMO02.EXE demonstrates the control capabilities of XPOLYPLUS applicated in control of four pumps in a waste water plant. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS To run the DEMO02.EXE executable, the user needs a PC with al least the following requirement: - Processor 586 or superior; - DOS operating system version 6.2; - 64 MB of RAM memory; - video card VESA supporting VBE with 800x600 resolution. INSTALLATION The DEMO02.EXE executable can be copied on the PC hard disk in any directory chosen by the user. Once the executable is copied on the hard disk, the auto-extracting application is started from the chosen directory with the command: demo02. In this way the application creates in the present position a new directory called DEMOXP, which contains files and subdirectories of the XPOLYPLUS program. To run the demo program, the user has to enter in the DEMOXP directory with the command: cd demoxp. The last command to start the program is the following: program. PROGRAM After the initialization of the program, a system menu appears on screen. After that, the system alarm page appears, indicating that the waste water plant level is too low. This kind of warning is integrated in the XPRun system. Any key pressure will close this window. At the top of the page, an alarm indication will persist as long as the alarm condition is satisfied. From the system menu, the user can access in the application page, by pressing on the "SIMULATION" field or exit from the program by moving on the bottom left field and pressing . The main application page shows: - At the top, there is a scheme of the waste water plant and its pumps. - In the middle, there are two graphs that show the time-based curves of the main system parameters. - At the bottom, there is a field that allows the user to set the valve water input, plus three buttons to start/stop the automatic pump control and to enter the configuration subpage. In the configuration subpage, the user can set the capacity and the energy required by each of the four pumps. The higher the power is set, the more the pump temperature raises. When the user sets the valve water input, the tank level starts to raise. Pressing button, the system turns on and off the pumps to maintain the level not higher than 200 cm and to reduce the engines heating. The integrated XPRun alarm system is set to manage three kinds of events: - Tank level too low, under 200 cm. - Tank level too high, over 500 cm (the input valve is automatically closed). - Pump temperature over 75 degrees.
